Wood Lake is a new campsite for 2016, a peaceful caravan and camping retreat for adults only, set in 8 acres of beautiful woodland walks and a one acre lake with an abundance of wildlife and birds, such as King Fishers, Marsh Harriers, Buzzards and Egrets. The Sky at night surrounding the campsite has no light pollution so you can stargaze as far as the eye can see. The camping area consists of two acres of level grass pitches and hardstandings with elecric points, water, a chemical desposal point, toilets/showers and a pot washing area. Wood Lake Campsite includes a certificated CS site. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead due to the wildllife conservation, there is a lead free, fenced off run on the site too.
Wood Lake Campsite is situated on the outskirts of a small historic village of Great Hatfield, with an award winning pub/restaurant/shop - The Wrygarth Inn - serving meals from carverys to vegetarian dishes. Wood Lake Campsite is located just two miles away is the unspoilt beach of Mappleton sands, popular with sea anglers and a place to let your dog run free. Just 4 miles away is the historic coastal town of Hornsea which is full of amenities and attractions such as a sandy beach with ice-cream parlours, amusement arcades, indoor swimming pool, tourist information, museum, retails outlets, resaturants'cafes and winebars, not forgetting the tradition fish and chip shops. The Hornsea Mere, one of the largest lakes in the UK offering boating trips, rowing boats, bird watching and fresh water fishing. Kingston upon Hull (City of Culture 2017) and the historic town of Beverley is just a twenty minute car journey from the site.
